Procedure to invoke service modeI have used this method and it works supplied from the makers manual. With tv off, hold vol up button on tv, switch tv on and keep holding vol up button whilst pressing standby on remote this must be done within 4 secs of switch on at no time let vol go

Vol cont bar will not move above 3 notches (not in hotel mode)EEPROM corrupt - enter service mode by pressing "vol up" on TV whilst sw set on & within 3 sec's press "standby" on R/C (still holding "vol up"). Service mode options now on screen. Make a note of settings!! Scroll up to "INIT CTVFOR-P V1.3" press "vol up" (toggle) & wait 2 sec's to finish.
